Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve — replacement

1. Remove the engine cover (if equipped) and locate the EGR valve on the left end of the cylinder head.

2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EGR valve.

3. Remove the EGR valve mounting nuts and remove the EGR valve from the coolant housing (see illustration).

4. Remove and discard the old EGR valve gasket.

5. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use a new EGR valve gasket, and tighten the EGR valve mounting nuts securely.
