Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve — replacement

1. On Civic 1.8L engines, the PCV valve is located on the right end of the engine, on the firewall side, accessible from above (see illustration). On CR-V and Civic 2.4L engines, the PCV valve is located near the alternator on the front of the engine block and also accessible from above.

2. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the PCV valve.

3. Unscrew and remove the PCV valve.

4. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten the PCV valve securely.
