Headlight housing — replacement

1. Make sure that the headlight switch and the ignition switch are turned off.

2. Remove the front bumper cover for both the Civic and the CR-V. See Chapter Body for the removal procedures.

Civic

3. Disconnect the electrical connections and harness clips.

4. Remove the headlight housing mounting bolts (see illustration).

5. Remove the assembly.

6. If you’re replacing the headlight housing, detach the corner bumper beam (the small black metal piece that’s attached to the underside of the headlight housing) and install it on the new headlight housing unit (see illustration).

7. Installation is the reverse of removal.

CR-V

8. Disconnect the electrical connections and harness clips.

9. Remove the four screws and the release pin securing the headlamp assembly to the core support.

10. Release the clips holding the corner upper beam assembly to the headlamp assembly and remove it.

11. Reinstall the corner upper beam assembly to the replacement headlamp assembly.

12. The remainder of the installation is the reverse of removal.
