Blower motor power transistor and blower motor — replacement…

Warning: The models covered by this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), more commonly known as airbags. Always disable the airbag system before working in the vicinity of any airbag system component to avoid the possibility of accidental deployment of the airbag, which could cause personal injury (see Chassis electrical system).

Blower motor power transistor

1. Disconnect the cable from the negativebattery terminal (see Engine electrical systems).

2. Working in the passenger compartmentunder the glove box, remove the lower dash panel (see Body).

3. Remove the glove box (see Body).

4. Remove the mounting screws (see illustration) for the passenger’s side heater duct and remove the duct.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector fromthe blower motor power transistor (see illustration).

6. Unscrew the mounting screws andremove the blower motor power transistor from the blower housing.

7. Installation is the reverse of removal.

8. Reconnect the battery (see Engine electrical systems).

9. Perform Steps 1 through 3 of this Section.

10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor (see illustration).

11. Remove the blower motor mounting screws and then remove the blower motor assembly.

12. Remove the blower motor circlip and remove the blower fan from the motor.

13. Installation is the reverse of removal.

14. Reconnect the battery (see Engine electrical systems).
