Air filter housing — removal and installation

Air intake duct

1. Loosen the hose clamp at the air filter housing-end of the duct (see illustration).

i.1 Disconnect the duct hose clamps (A) and any PCV hoses (B) (2014 1.8L Civic shown)

2. Loosen the hose clamp at the throttle body-end of the duct (see illustration).

3. Disconnect any crankcase vent hoses or pipes from the duct as necessary (see illustration).

4. Remove the air intake duct.

5. Installation is the reverse of removal.

6. Disconnect the MAF/IAT sensor electrical connector (see illustration).

i.6 Disconnect the MAF/IAT sensor (A), loosen the intake duct hose clamp (B) and remove the housing fasteners (C) (2014 1.8L Civic shown)

7. Loosen the air intake duct clamp and separate the hose from the air filter housing (see illustration).

8. Remove the air filter housing fasteners and lift the housing out (see illustration).

Note: You may need to pull firmly to disengage the rubber mounting points.

9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
