Note: Not all models are equipped with a fuel pulsation damper. Look under the fuel rail to determine if your model is equipped with one.
1. The fuel pulsation damper is located on the fuel rail. To replace the fuel pulsation damper, you must remove the fuel rail (see Fuel rail and injectors — removal and installation) (see illustration).
.1 Locate the pulsation damper on the underside of the fuel rail
2. Use one wrench to hold the fuel rail nut and a second wrench to remove the fuel pulsation damper (see illustration).
i.2 Unscrew the pulsation damper (A) with one wrench while holding the hex on the fuel rail (B) with another
3. Installation is reverse of removal. Use a NEW washer when installing the fuel pulsation damper. Torque the damper to this Chapter’s Specifications.
